Dawei Zhao is an artist originally from China who just completed his degree at VCU. He wanted an experience of a nature-based residency prior to returning to China as he prepares for his next step in the artist journey of applying to grad school. With a background in media and sculpture, Dawei experimented with objects while on site and also spent significant amount of time working in painting medium as he had mostly created abstracts previously.
